Premier's role in sustainable development hailed

Manama, May 6 (BNA): Social Development Minister Faeqa Said Al-Saleh paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa for his efforts as an architect of sustainable development. "HRH the Premier spearheaded sustainable development and put small-sized Bahrain on the global map", she said on the sidelines of a press conference which was convened to launch Bahrain Development Goals Report at the Ritz Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa. In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), she cited the Premier’s initiative to launch an award that acknowledges sustainable development strides and honour their architects. She stressed the importance of the recent summit which was held at Sharm Al-Sheikh, in Egypt in setting the Arab sustainable development priorities. "Bahrain is ranked among the countries which achieved the UN Development Goals, having met so far seven objectives while the eighth indicator, which concerns the environment, is on good track", she said, stressing the importance of the 2nd Arab Forum, being held in Bahrain .
