Shaikh Khalid praises AFC president re-election

Manama, May 1 (BNA): Supreme Council for Youth and Sport First Deputy Chairman and the Bahrain Athletics Association President Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa has congratulated Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa on his re-election uncontested as President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for a new four-year term, and FIFA Vice-President. Shaikh Khalid asserted that the unanimous vote of confidence of the Asian football community in Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa confirms anew the distinguished status enjoyed by the kingdom and its prestigious reputation in the youth and sport fields. He affirmed that Shaikh Salman's win of such a high-level Asian post proves Bahrainis' outstanding ability in holding leadership positions at the continental level. Shaikh Khalid said that Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim had exerted tremendous efforts during his presidency over AFC during the past period, which, he asserted, had contributed to developing AFC work and promoted Asian football. He wished him further success.
