Education Ministry marks World Book Day
Manama, Apr. 23 (BNA): The kingdom of Bahrain has joined the international community in celebrating the World Book and Copyright Day, as designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi attended today a celebration entitled "Sources of Knowledge Centres .. Bright Oases," held by Public Libraries Directorate at the Ministry of Education (MoE) to mark World Book and Copyright Day.
The minister toured the exhibition that included pavilions for reading, drawing and books, as well as services provided by the sources of knowledge centers, such as periodicals, software, electronic books and centers' newly arrived publications.
He affirmed that the ministry's celebration to mark the World Book and Copyright Day provides an opportunity for students and parents to be informed about sources of knowledge centers' services and role in encouraging visitors to read and have access to information in many areas, which will have a positive impact on student's personality, breadth of knowledge and capabilities.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 4 pm – 9 pm.
