King deputises Shaikh Nasser to open Arab Athletics Championship

Manama, Apr.22 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa has deputised his Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa to patronise the opening of the 19th Arab Athletics Championship, scheduled to start tomorrow (April23) at 07:00 p.m at Khalifa Sport City Stadium. About 700 male and female athletes from 21 Arab countries will participate in the 19th Pan Arab Championships (Women/Men), which will run until April 27. HM the King's patronage reflects his interest in the youth and sport movement in Bahrain and the Arab World and constant support for athletes. The kingdom's hosting of such a mega sporting event proves anew its outstanding capabilities to host various regional, continental and international gatherings. The Arab Athletics Federation President and the Executive Committee Chairman will address the inaugural ceremony, before HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa announces the opening of the pan-Arab championship.
