Bahraini, Saudi Customs hold meeting

Manama, Apr.22 (BNA): President of Customs Affairs, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has met General Director of Saudi Customs and Chairman of the General Organization of King Fahad Causeway, Saleh Al-Khaliwi in Riyadh. The meeting was to discussed customs-related matters to ensure smooth traffic flow of individuals and products on the causeway. The President of Customs asserted that the meeting agenda included the trucks issue to set solutions for smooth movement of the trucks on both sides, in addition to the completion of the second phase of the e-linking between the Customs Affairs and the Saudi Customs that includes exchange of customs data. The two sides agreed to implement the proposal of Saudi Customs, in which trucks carrying different products will be cleared from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm and from 3:00 pm trucks that carry national products such as aluminum and iron will be cleared, while from 9:00 pm until the second day empty trucks will be cleared. The two sides agreed to implement and evaluate the proposal from Sunday April 26. President of Customs expressed thanks and appreciation to the Saudi official for the great hospitality and efforts for the success of the meeting.
