HM the King receives international Australian swimmer Eric Watson

Manama, Apr. 19 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Bahrain International Circuit today his Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), and SCYS First Deputy Chairman and President of Bahrain Athletics Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who introduced to him the international Australian swimmer Eric Watson, marking his achievement in Khalid bin Hamad Swim Challenge. HM the King congratulated Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid on success of the race. He also congratulated the Australian swimmer on his accomplishment, praising his participation in the humanitarian function in support of cancer patients. He lauded the initiative of Shaikh Khalid in inviting the international Australian swimmer to take part in the challenge, stressing the key role played by sport in laying bridges of cooperation between athletes from all over the world. HM the King underscored support to the youth and sport sector in Bahrain, praising the achievements of Bahraini athletes in various events. The Australian swimmer thanked HM the King for the meeting, expressing happiness about the invitation he received from Shaikh Khalid to participate in the challenge and commending good organisation of it.
