Egyptian Foreign Minister Discusses With Gen. Allen Situation In Iraq And Efforts To Eliminate Daash

Cairo / NINA / Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shukri discussed today 19 April with Gen. John Allen, the envoy of US President Barack Obama for the war against Daash and his accompanying delegation, visiting Egypt currently the existing cooperation in the framework of the international coalition against the terrorist organization Daash in Iraq and Syria, and the current coordination with the Iraqi government in this regard. The spokesman of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Badr Abdel Ati stated that the meeting of the Minister Shukri with Gen. Allen focused on addressing developments in the field situation on the ground in Iraq in order to defeat the terrorist organization and the liberalization of the Iraqi territories, where US envoy presented the achievements of Iraqi forces from the progress on the ground in the last period. He added that the minister Shukri renewed emphasizing the importance of intensifying the alliance's efforts to eliminate Daash and the Iraqi government's efforts to involve all the national political forces in Iraq in the political process regardless of their ethnic, religious or sectarian affiliations and work to re-displaced to their villages and provide the necessary security for them. Gen. Allen stressed that his country is moving in the direction of cutting off funding and urge the regional parties to make efforts to prevent the flow of foreign fighters into Iraq and Syria by through controlling the border and cooperation in the exchange of intelligence information. / End
