Stage set for showjumping, dressage championship

Manama, Apr.16 (BNA) Under the patronage of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Races Federation (BREEF) President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the BREEF will organize the Closing Season Showjumping and Dressage Championship that to be held today and tomorrow at the Military Sports Association’s Field in Al Raffah.
The event is being sponsored by Dilmunia, and will be held in two days (Friday and Saturday), with elite riders to compete in this two days event and to achieve top positions. The Friday’s events will be starting by 9am with Dressage Juniors category, followed by showjumping contests to be starting by 12.30pm with Juniors Level One category for barriers height 85-100 cm, and the speed of the track is set for 300 meters/minute.
The second contest of the day to be held for Juniors Level Two, for barriers height 95-110 cm with the speed of the track is set for 300 meters/minute, followed by a contest for Adults Level One for barriers height of 90-105 cm with the speed of the track set for 350 meters/minute, as well as the Adults Level Two contest for barriers height 105-120 cm with the speed track set for 350 meters/minute.
The Closing Season Championship will be concluded in the following day, with Dressage Adults category to be held at 9am tomorrow, followed by a showjumping contest for open category (Adults and Juniors) for barriers height 95-110 cm with the speed track set for 350 meters/minute. Another showjumping contest to be held for (Adults and Juniors) category for barriers height of 120-130 cm with the speed of the track set for 350 meters/minutes, while the last showjumping contest of the day to be held for (Adults and Juniors) category for barriers height 105-115 with the speed of the track set for 350 meters/minute.
Meanwhile, Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa approved earlier the administrative and technical crew who will supervise this two days event. BREEF set the rules of the competitions, where a horse can participate in three classes in a day, although each horse can compete only once in each category. The rider, meanwhile, can compete in the same category with two different horses. The closing season championship will be live on Bahrain T.V. Sports Channel starting from 2pm with the Grand Prix competition until the end of the event.
