Anti-narcotic police foil drug trafficking attempt

Manama, Apr. 15 (BNA): In two separate cases, the Anti-narcotic Police have foiled drug trafficking of 164 capsules of heroin into the country. A number of Asians were arrested and the narcotics that are worth more than BD150000 were confiscated. The General Director of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science said that the department was tipped-off that an Asian drug smuggler plans to smuggle the drug in capsules through the Bahrain International Airport to give it to others, that will be waiting for him outside the airport. Investigation was launched and the two main suspects who hid the capsules inside their intestines were identified and arrested. He said that the two suspects were referred to the hospital and their X-rays revealed strange objects inside their intestines, in which 99 capsules were removed from the first suspect and 65 from the second suspect. He said that the seized items were confiscated, legal procedures were taken and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution.
