SCW holds awareness meeting

Manama, Apr.14 (BNA): The Information Affairs Authority (IAA) hosted an awareness meeting, which highlighted efforts to integrate women's needs and achieve the principle of equal opportunities. Organised by the Supreme Council for Women ( SCW)General Secretariat, the event targeted in particular IAA officials, radio and TV anchors and presenters. The event acknowledges the crucial role of the media as an essential part in promoting the implementation of the national strategy which aims at empowering Bahraini women so that they could contribute to the development march. SCW awareness programming expert Huda Salman outlined the efforts of the council, chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King, to empower Bahraini women in cooperation with other partners. Salman highlighted the SCW-led efforts to foster the integration of Bahraini women in development strategies and disseminate equal gender equal opportunities through awareness-enhancing programmes, initiatives, awards, databases and studies.
