Minister receives ECHR former judge

Manama Apr. 12 (BNA): Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa received the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR)'s former judge, Egbert Myjer. The minister praised the efforts of Egbert Myjer in presenting invaluable lectures at the workshop on human rights at the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute alongside with magistrates, public prosecution members and international experts. The workshop explored optimum practices to achieve criminal justice, basic standards of human rights as per international writs and national legislations, and sureties to accused persons in the stages of investigation and court trialing and the role of the relevant agencies in achieving criminal justice.
