BFA Chairman lauds championship attendance

Manama, Apr. 8 – (BNA): Bahrain Fencing Association (BFA) Chairman Shaikh Ibrahim bin Salman Al Khalifa has expressed delight with the massive attendance of the BFA Championship.
The event showcased junior talents from both genders in this sport expected to become popular. The game has been introduced in Bahraini clubs, governmental and private schools, he said, citing the Ministry of Education's role in this aspect.
The BFA organized the championship in which 36 players aimed to stimulate them to compete to choose promising talents to join the training and qualification course to represent the kingdom in championships abroad.
The BFA Chairman submitted gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), for supporting the BOC and the BFA programmes and activities aimed to brush up skills and to qualify gifted fencers to partake in upcoming Olympic tournaments after ensuring their capabilities and readiness.
He also thanked the Ministry of Education for supporting this sport by choosing talents from various schools which culminated in the participation of eight fencers from the ministry-affiliated centres which is the first experience in the BFA history.
