Royal keynote speech hailed

Manama, Apr6(BNA) The keynote speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa as he chaired the weekly Cabinet has been hailed. Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla lauded the royal directives which, he said, would benefit Bahrain and its citizens. His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier attended the session at Gudaibya Palace. The Speaker said that the legislative branch of government would spare no effort to fast-track the endorsement of laws for the sake of the homeland and citizens' interests. He commended the crucial role of the executive branch of government for its cooperation with the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council towards consolidating Bahrain's democratic process. He lauded the landmark political, legislative and development strides which were achieved in Bahrain over the past years in the reform era of HM the King. The Speaker stressed the keenness of the Council of Representatives on addressing local and regional issues which concern the security, political, military and defence situation. "The Council of Representatives discusses, through its sessions and committees, regional and international developments as the region is going through a critical phase", he said. Chairing the weekly cabinet meeting, HM the King underlined internal affairs and spotlighted regional and international developments. He affirmed Bahrain's resolve to continue its participation in the Operation Decisive Storm in response to the call of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
