Trade between Yemen and Gulf amounts to $ 3.7 billion in 2007

SANA'A, Dec. 16 (Saba) – Official figures noted that trade volume
between Yemen and the Gulf states increased in 2007 to almost $ 3.7
billion, up from almost $ 2.5 billion in 2006.

Yemen's imports from the Gulf States increased from YR 418 billion
in 2006 to YR 626 billion in 2007, or at 36 percent of Yemen's total
imports.

However, Yemeni exports to these countries increased from YR 133
billion in 2006 to YR 150 billion only in 2007, or at 12 percent of
Yemeni total experts to foreign countries.

The Untied Arab Emirates comes first among Yemen's Gulf trade
partners as imports from this state amounted to YR 365 billion, with
Yemeni exports amounting to YR 94 billion.

Saudi Arabia comes second, Bahrain third, Oman fourth, Qatar fifth
and Kuwait sixth.

In this regard, economic studies expect the trade volume between
Yemen and the Gulf states to increase to YR 1.1 trillion in 2008.

one of these studies said Yemen's imports from these countries will
raise to YR 822 billion and Yemeni exports will increase to YR156
