Area for Somali refugees in Kharaz to be defined

SANA'A, Dec. 16 (Saba)- Secretary General of Lahj Local Council Ali
Mater directed speeding up design for defining an area for Somali
refugees in Kharaz.

In his meeting with Director of the United Nation High Commission
for Refugees' Office in Aden Lyla Nasif and a number of concerned
officials in the commission, Mater discussed with the Nasif issues
of refuges, necessary services and coordination between the UNHCR's
office and local authority in the governorate.

Mater highlighted the commission cooperation in increasing operation
expenses for wells assigned for the refugees' camp and for enhancing
relations with local authority.

For her part, Nasif expressed high admiration for local authority
concern for improving conditions of refugees and easing commission's
humanitarian duties saying the UNHCR would provide two cars to the
security unit in the camp in addition to increasing services
provided to refugees.
