Khalifa receives President of the Philippines
Abu Dhabi, Dec. 16, 2008 (WAM) - President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan received here yesterday the visiting President of the Philippines Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
President Arroyo arrived in Abu Dhabi on the first leg of a regional tour. As he welcomed the Philippines Head of State, Sheikh Khalifa expressed hope that Arroyo's visit to the UAE would boost the friendly relations between the two countries.
During their talks, Sheikh Khalifa and President Arroyo conferred on a wide-range of issues, including bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
For her part, President Arroyo expressed her happiness to visit the UAE where, she said, the Philippines expatriate workers have been under a good care. She lauded the UAE ties with her country and also commended the astounding achievements made by the UAE in various spheres of development.
