Bahraini-Austrian ties hailed

Manama, Feb. 17. (BNA)-- Shura Council First Deputy Chairman Jamal Mohamed Fakhro has affirmed Bahrain's commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and eliminating it through cooperation and coordination with international efforts. He said that several laws, in accordance with international conventions, were approved by the legislative branch to fight terrorism. This came as he received here today a parliamentary delegation from Austria, headed by MP Christine Muttonen, in the presence of Council's Second Deputy Chairperson Jameela Ali Salman, a number of Council's committees Chairpersons and members. The Head and members of the delegation affirmed that terrorism has no religion and contravenes the teachings of all divine religions. The delegation underscored the importance of unifying counter-terrorism efforts and exchanging visits among parliaments to coordinate stances in this regard. MPs expressed the Council's keenness on consolidating parliamentary relations, especially in coordinating stances in international parliamentary forums. MPs and the delegation affirmed Bahraini-Austrian outstanding ties in all fields. They reviewed ways to promote joint cooperation in the field of parliamentary work and matters of mutual interest.
