Kuwaiti Amir, HRH Premier discuss outstanding bilateral relations
Kuwait, Jan. 11. (BNA) – Kuwaiti Amir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah received here today His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in the presence of Kuwaiti Crown Prince Shaikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah and Premier Shaikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The Kuwaiti Amir reviewed with HRH Premier the outstanding relations bonding the two brotherly countries.
The two leaders affirmed strong resolve to bolster joint ties, and maintain the advanced level of bilateral cooperation in all fields and at all levels.
They affirmed that the critical phase the region is currently going through requires the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to adopt and implement initiatives to consolidate joint GCC cooperation, stressing that the member states share a common destiny and therefore their concerted efforts should focus on achieving their common goals.
The current situation in the region requires collective action according to specific mechanisms in order to ensure regional security and stability, they said.
HRH Premier conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Kuwaiti Amir.
HRH the Prime Minister reiterated keenness to build on the solid base of the long-standing Bahraini-Kuwaiti cooperation, noting that the two brotherly countries boast a long history of joint milestone achievements.
The Kuwaiti Amir and HRH Premier stressed that GCC cooperation should meet the requirements of the current situation in the region, as well as its security and development challenges.
They tackled the regional and global issues and their impacts on the region.
They stressed the need to step up efforts to enhance joint GCC coordination and cooperation in order to achieve the aspirations and expectations of GCC peoples, and maintain GCC cohesion and strength.
They underscored the importance of cooperation between the two countries in facing the attempts to subvert security and stability in the region. They stressed the need to take more measures and precautions that safeguard GCC countries and the region from being involved in any conflicts or wars that lead to nothing but devastation, and destruction of the achievements of nations and peoples.
The Kuwaiti Amir hosted a luncheon in honour of HRH Premier and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Kuwaiti Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as senior state officials.
