Foreign Ministry summons Lebanese Chargé d'Affaires

Manama, Jan. 11 -- (BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday summoned the Lebanese Embassy's Chargé d’Affaires to the Kingdom Ibrahim Elias 'Assaf, following the recent hostile statements made by terrorist organization Hezbollah's secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah. Undersecretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah asked the Lebanese Chargé d'Affaires to condemn these statements; informing him of the need to take deterrent legal action towards such acts. The Undersecretary stressed that such statements are completely incompatible with the nature of the fraternal relations between the two countries and their peoples, as they harm their efforts to develop these relations in various fields. The Undersecretary stressed that these statements represent an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of Bahrain and the GCC and included a clear incitement to violence and terrorism which will not be tolerated. He affirmed the Kingdom is committed to good neighborly relations and non-interference in the affairs of other countries and is keen to develop positive relations with all brotherly and friendly countries yet it will not accept any interference in the Kingdom’s affairs from any party whatsoever and will take all necessary measures capable of enhancement of its security and stability.
