Russia strongly condemns terror blasts

Manama, Dec. 13. (BNA) -- Russia has strongly condemned the twin terror bomb blasts that killed a policeman and a 72-year-old Bahraini citizen. In a statement to "Akhbar Al-Khaleej" newspaper, the Russian Ambassador Victor Smirnov said the blasts that claimed the lives of Jordanian Ali Mohammed Ali in Demistan and Abdulkareem Mansoor Al Basri in Karzakan were "heinous terror crimes that do not serve the interests of Bahrain and its people as they cause loss of lives and material damage." He stressed his country's firm denunciation of terrorist attacks, extending condolences to the families of the martyrs. He hailed growing economic and political co-operation between Bahrain and Russia, describing bilateral relations as promising for the future. "Russia is resolved to bolster relations in all fields after the formation of the new cabinet, under the chairmanship of by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa," he said.
