Ombudsman receives GCC delegation

Manama, Dec. 10. (BNA) – Secretary-General of the Ombudsman Nawaf Al-Maawda has received here a delegation from the reformation and detention directorates in GCC countries, currently on a visit to the kingdom to take part in the GCC "Inmate Week" entitled "Take My Hand Toward a Better Tomorrow", held in the kingdom from December 7 until today. Al-Maawda highlighted the Ombudsman's efforts in monitoring reformation and detention centres, citing the first annual report issued last May. He affirmed the Ombudsman's constant keenness to interact positively with similar institutions and bodies outside Bahrain to avail of their expertise and skills in monitoring reformation and detention centres, especially the prestigious ones.
