RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF EMERGENCIES RENDERS HUMANITARIAN AID TO AZERBAIJANI REFUGEES AND IDPS
Baku, 10 December,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan`s Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the republican commission for international humanitarian assistance Ali Hasanov met with the representatives of Russian Ministry of Emergencies, who delivered humanitarian aid for Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs on occasion of Eid-al-Adha, as part of UNWFP`s help.
Mr. Hasanov expressed his condolence on demise of Patriarch of Moscow and All
Russia Alexy II. Chairman underlined that during its activity in Azerbaijan, from
1993 to 2008, UNWFP has rendered humanitarian aid to refugees and IDPs worth over
US $ 115 mln. He noted that Russian Ministry of Emergencies repeatedly rendered
humanitarian aid to refugees and IDPs suffered from Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Ministry`s current assistance in the amount of half a million dollars will be
distributed among the refugees and IDPs of Agdam, Fizuli and Bilasuvar regions,
said Hasanov.
Representative of the Ministry Nikolay Zelenuk emphasized that humanitarian aid was
rendered in accordance with the decree of Russian Premier Vladimir Putin, June 12,
2008 to provide additional funds for humanitarian assistance to Azerbaijani people.
