Manama, Dec6(BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met His Excellency Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue. During the meeting, His Royal Highness praised the Egypt’s leading role in the Arab world, highlighting its historic contributions to many Arab causes. His Royal Highness went on to reiterate Bahrain’s firm support to Egypt’s long-term security and economic growth as the country works to meet the aspirations of all Egyptians. In this regard, His Royal Highness praised Egypt’s leadership for remaining committed to the country’s deep-rooted cultural values in its determination to boost development and achieve lasting stability. His Royal Highness and Mr Shoukry then discussed the strong relationship between Bahrain and Egypt and explored ways to further boost bilateral ties in both a regional and international context. Calling for the end to extremism ideologies, His Royal Highness stressed that Bahrain firmly condemns all forms of extremism and remains deeply concerned how Islam is being undermined by extremists who distort the faith through fundamental misinterpretations of the religion that only lead to growing intolerance among communities. In this regard, His Royal Highness emphasised that while politics may drag people into ideology, it is the ideology itself that must be combated, and that the international community must have the intellectual integrity to call it out for what it is. For his part, Mr Shoukry extended the well wishes and sincere appreciation of His Excellency Mr Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of Egypt, for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continued support of Egypt. His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also attended the meeting.
