HRH Premier receives IPI President

Manama, Dec. 6. (BNA) – His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received here today the International Peace Institute (IPI) President Terje Rod-Larsen. HRH Premier called upon the International Community to intensify its efforts to promote peace, given its crucial role in achieving development. He stressed the importance of steeping up work to support peace efforts in the region in order to ensure regional peace is not affected. He said that the region has had enough bitter instability experiences, and affirmed that the current challenges may affect regional peace, stressing that it is high time to focus on development and economy and stop being distracted by politics. IPI President lauded the kingdom's openness, co-existence and freedom prevailing thanks to the democratic climate, which, he said, has entitled Bahrain to be a role model of stability, if compared to its neighbours. Terje Rod-Larsen presented HRH Premier with a copy of his book entitled: "The Search for Peace in the Arab-Israeli Conflict: A Compendium of Documents and Analysis" HRH Premier lauded Terje Rod-Larsen's efforts in supporting peace global peace.
