UNESCAP ORGANIZING TOURISM TRAINING IN BALI

Denpasar, Dec 10 (ANTARA) - The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) is organizing the 16th Aspac education and training in tourism in the resort island of Bali on Dec 10-13.

The four-day activity was aimed at building networks in the tourism sector, the world's largest foreign exchange earner, the spokesman of the event's organizing committee, Aswie, said here on Wednesday.

The activity featured a number of competent resource persons, including former culture and tourism minister I Gde Ardika who is currently a member of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)'s Committee Code Ethic, he said.

Also on the list of speakers were Director of Overseas Marketing at the Culture and Tourism Ministry I Gde Pitana and tourism operators Adiyanto and I Nyoman Sadra, he said.

He said Adiyanto would speak on community-based tourism (CBT) at Candirejo village near Borobudur Temple in Central Java and I Nyoman Sadra on CBT in Tenganan village, Karangasem district, Bali.
