PRESIDENT CHAIRS CABINET MEETING TO DISCUSS INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
Jakarta, Dec 11 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono chaired a limited cabinet meeting at his presidential office here on Thursday to discuss infrastructure development.
Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa said before the starting of the meeting that President Yudhoyono and a number of his cabinet ministers would discuss the acceleration of infrastructure development in several regions.
Hatta Radjasa explained that the acceleration of infrastructure development in various regions was intended to absorb as many manpowers as possible in a bid to anticipate the impacts of the current global financial crisis.
Hatta said President Yudhoyono would be accompanied by Vice President Jusuf Kalla in the limited cabinet meeting which is to be attended by a number of ministers, among others Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Widodo AS, acting Coordinating Minister for Economy Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Aburizal Bakrie, Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Industry Minister Fahmi Idris, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, and Manpower and Transmigration Minister Erman Suparno.
