FLOOD INUNDATES TENS OF HOUSES IN PAMEKASAN
Pamekasan, Madura Island, Dec. 11 (ANTARA) - A flood triggered by incessant rains on Wednesday, inundated tens of houses located along the bank of Semajid River, Pamekasan District, Madura Island, East Java Province.
At midnight on Wednesday, the floodwaters reached a height of up to 30 centimeters.
"Two hours ago, the floodwaters' height was only around 10 centimeters," Khairul Kalam, a local resident, said.
Pamekasan's Deputy District Head Kadarisman Sastrodiwirdjo on Wednesday evening visited flooded areas to have a close look at the condition of flood victims. Some 70 houses were estimated to be inundated.
