Foreign Minister meets US officials

Manama, Dec3(BNA) Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa today met the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Anne Patterson and the Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human rights and Labour, Tom Malinowski, who are on visit to Bahrain. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations bonding Bahrain and the US, stressing steadily-growing joint cooperation in all fields. The minister affirmed Bahrain's keenness on consolidating bilateral ties and bolstering joint cooperation. The US officials commended outstanding relations bonding the two countries, hailing Bahrain's counterterrorism efforts and pivotal role in the international coalition against terror groups. They also credited Bahrain for hosting Manama conference on combating terror finance last November. Regional and international issues of mutual concern were also discussed.
