AZERBAIJANI-AMERICAN COUNCIL HOLDS FORUM IN LOS ANGELES

Baku, 10 December,(AzerTAj)Annual Azerbaijani-American Scientific Forum was held at
the Irvine University of Los Angeles, AzerTAc reports from the United States.
Organized by the Azerbaijani-American Council, the forum has been held in different
authoritative universities of California over the past three years, bringing
together both scientists researching Azerbaijan and members of the Azerbaijan
community to get a glimpse of political, economical and social change in Azerbaijan.
Forum participants have discussed issues related to social development, geopolitics,
diplomacy, energy, economy and technology, as well as the Russian-Georgian
confrontation with regional impacts.
The conference featured short speeches by Dr Svante Cornell, Deputy Director of the
Central Asia-Caucasus Institute (John Hopkins University), Elin Suleymanov, Consul
General of Azerbaijan in Los-Angeles, the United States, Javid Huseynov, President
of the Azerbaijani-American Council and other participants. Works by British
photographer Collin Rouse devoted to Baku have been on display at the University as
part of the Forum.
