Iran plays active role in regional developments: Ivanov

Moscow, Dec 10, IRNA - Former Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran plays an active role in regional developments.

Addressing a press conference, he stressed that Iran's nuclear issue
would be only resolved through participation of the country in
international affairs.

"We should not ignore the fact that Iran is an active regional player.
The more Iran is participated in the settlement of international
issues, the easier and faster the country's nuclear case would be
settled," Ivanov who is also former secretary of Russian Security
Council added.

He further rejected the idea that Moscow adopts a double standard
policy towards Iran's nuclear program.

Russia enjoys identical views with members of the Group 5+1 on Iran's
nuclear activities, Ivanov reiterated.
