Iran to produce urea in Ecuador

Assalouyeh, Bushehr prov., Dec 10, IRNA - Oil minister declared here Monday that Iran and Ecuador have agreed on building an urea production unit in Ecuador.

Gholam Hossein Nozari, who was accompanying Ecuador President Rafael
Correa Delgado in his visit to Assalouyeh told reporters, "In an
agreement signed by Ecuadorian Oil Minister and me, it was decided a
urea production unit to be built in Ecuador with the cooperation of
Iran to develop petrochemicals industry there.

He added, "We also agreed to promote capacity of Ecuadorian oil refineries."
Nozari continued, "There are two pipelines for crude oil in Ecuador
which are very old and worn out and Iranian contractors are to work on
them."
Creation of a joint company for developing oil fields in Ecuador is
among other agreements between Iran and Ecuador, the Iranian oil
minister went on to say.

President Correa Delgado and his accompanying delegation visited Pars
Energy Special Economic Zone of Assalouyeh in a one-day trip.
