Mild tremor in Iran felt in UAE northern parts

Abu Dhabi, Dec 10, 2008 (WAM) - A tremor of an earthquake measuring a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale, which shook southern Iranian Island of Qasham on the Arabian Gulf, was lightly felt last night in some parts of the northern emirates, the National Centre of Metrology and Seismology (NCMS) announced this evening. The UAE National Seismic Network, part of the NCMS, recorded the earth tremor at 7:09 pm at local time. The same area was rocked by two powerful tremors measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale on 7th Dec. and 5.2 on 8th Dec.
