HM the King receives Senior UK Defence Adviser

Manama, Nov12(BNA)His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today received at Al-Safriya Palace Senior UK Defence Adviser for the Middle East Lieutenant-General Sir Simon Mayall, currently on visit to Bahrain. HM the King welcomed the British officer and reviewed with him deep-rooted historic relations of cooperation and friendship bonding the two countries in all fields, hailing particularly advanced defence and military cooperation. HM the King affirmed Bahrain's keen interest in bolstering bilateral relations and expanding cooperation and joint work towards achieving the aspirations of the two friendly countries and peoples. HM the King commended the UK for its pivotal role in maintaining regional security and stability and serving peace in the world. HM the King and Sir Simon Mayall reviewed the current situation unfolding in the region as well as regional and international developments. UK Senior Defence Adviser for the Middle East Lieutenant-General Sir Simon Mayall also lauded strong historic relations bonding the two countries, stressing keenness on developing defence cooperation.
