Rohto Vietnam doubles production capacity
Binh Duong (VNA) - The Japanese pharmaceuticals and cosmetics producer,
Rohto Mentholatum Vietnam Co. Ltd., completed a project on Dec. 8 to double
its production capacity at the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park in
southern Binh Duong province.
Launched one year ago, the project also helps increase the capacity of the
firm's warehouse by four-fold in order to meet the growing production.
The Rohto Mentholatum Vietnam General Director, Masaya Saito, said the
expansion of the workshop and warehouse shows the company's optimism about
the economic prospects of Vietnam that is expected to emerge as an
attractive retail market in Southeast Asia .
After 12 years of operation in Vietnam , Rohto has now occupied the
largest market share for eyes, lips and skin care products and other
pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
Despite the global economic recession, the wholly Japanese-owned firm, which
has an initial investment of 18 million USD, posted a growth rate of 40
percent this year.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Health handed over the World Health
Organisation's Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate to the
company.-Enditem
