Choi Kyoung-ju becomes Asian Tour honorary member

SEOUL, Dec. 9 (Yonhap) -- South Korean golf star Choi Kyoung-ju became an honorary member of the Asian Tour on Tuesday, following on the heels of Vijay Singh, the sport's top regional body said.

The 38-year-old South Korean is the most successful male golfer from his country,
having claimed seven PGA titles. He has played across Asia, including Japan,
since the early 1990s, and clinched a ticket to the U.S. circuit in 1999.
The Asian Tour said in a statement it invited Choi to be an honorary member after
concluding he has been an inspiration to his fellow Asian golfers.
Singh, the Fijian who won three majors, was given an honorary membership in
March. Choi has yet to capture a major U.S. title.
