Parliament Speaker receives Chinese Ambassador

Manama, Nov. 5. (BNA) – Speaker of the Representatives Council Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani has expressed delight at the visit of the high-level Chinese delegation, led by the Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng, to the kingdom later today. This came as he received here today the Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain Li Chen. Al Dhahrani pointed out that the Bahraini-Chinese relations are progressing steadily in the political, strategic, economic and cultural fields, stressing the importance of exchanging parliamentary expertise and visits between friendship committees. He also lauded China's supportive stances to Bahrain and its keenness to safeguard its stability and sovereignty. They reviewed bilateral relations and highlighted the importance of the high-profile Chinese delegation's visit to the kingdom in enhancing the joint partnership and coordination of stances towards regional and global issues. The latest regional and global developments were also discussed. Ambassador Li Chen expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Parliament Speaker for interest in developing bilateral relations and activating joint cooperation agreements, stressing the advanced level bonding the two countries' leaderships and peoples.
