Domestic sales of commercial vehicles dive in Nov.
SEOUL, Dec. 9 (Yonhap) -- Domestic sales of commercial vehicles, such as buses and trucks, fell sharply in November due to an economic slump, an industry association said Tuesday.
Sales of buses and trucks reached 15,534 units last month, down 27.4 percent from
a year earlier, according to the Korean Automobile Manufacturers Association.
But exports of commercial vehicles by South Korea's carmakers such as Hyundai
Motor Co. surged 36.8 percent to 17,591 units largely thanks to steady demand
from the Middle East and South America, the association said.
The association expects sales of commercial vehicles in the emerging economies to
fall down the road due to a global economic downturn.
