Bahrain condemns Israel’s decision to close Al Aqsa Mosque

Manama, Oct. 30 (BNA)-- The Kingdom of Bahrain condemns Israel’s decision to close the Al Aqsa Mosque to Muslims in the Old City, which is an unacceptable encroachment on Islamic sanctities, a breach of conventions that have been signed and a serious attempt to escalate and change the status quo at the holly site of the Al Quds Mosque, which creates a new hotbed of tension and another disruption for the peace process. The Kingdom stresses that this Israeli step reflects a disregard to the feelings of Muslims everywhere and represents a blatant challenge to all religions, laws and conventions that emphasize freedom of access to places of worship, as well as a new emphasis by Israel to ignore the Palestinian people and its indifference to international legitimacy resolutions, religious values, divine laws and principles. The Kingdom of Bahrain calls on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to deter these dangerous Israeli practices and enable the Palestinian people to perform their own religion freely, as well as to compel Israel to abide by international laws and to stop its violations and crimes against the Palestinian people and their sanctities.
