Vietnamese NA leader receives Tanzanian President

Hanoi, October 29 (VNA) – National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung confirmed the legislature’s commitment to enhancing the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Tanzania during a reception for Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete in Hanoi on October 28. The Chairman expressed his gratitude for Tanzania’s support for Vietnam during its struggle for liberation in the past and its current national construction. He praised the outcomes of the talks and meetings between the Tanzanian President and Vietnamese Party and State leaders, which, he said, will open up more cooperation opportunities in accordance with the two peoples’ expectations and aspirations. Vietnam always treasures its traditional friendship with Tanzania, he stated, suggesting the two countries boost collaboration in telecommunications, agriculture, politics, culture and education. The NA leader also took the occasion to invite the Tanzanian NA Speaker to pay an official visit to Vietnam and attend the 132 nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in 2015. On his part, Kikwete said his visit’s objective is to deepen the bilateral relationship, hoping that the two NAs will continue to tighten their cooperation in legislative and supervisory procedures. He pledged to do his best to boost the traditional friendship between the two peoples. Later on the same day, the Tanzania President left Hanoi, successfully wrapping up his October 26-28 State visit to Vietnam at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang.-VNA
