BJP set to retain MP for second consecutive term

Bhopal, Dec 8 (PTI) The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party
(BJP) in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh was on the
path of emerging a clear winner with its candidates bagging 15
out of 18 constituencies for which results have been declared
so far.

Leading the list of BJP winners was Madhya Pradesh Chief
Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who won yet again from Budhni
assembly constituency with a huge margin of more than 40,000
votes.

Other BJP winners included State Assembly Speaker
Ishwardas Rohani, who won by more than 25,000 votes from
Jabalpur Cantonment, Vijay Shah from Harsud, Raghavji from
Vidisha, Tukojirao Pawar from Dewas, Kailash Vijayawargiya
from Mhow and Surya Prakash Meena from Shamshabad.

The Congress winners were Lakhan Ghanghoriya from
Jabalpur north, Satyanarayan Patel from Depalpur and Yadvendra
Singh from Tikamgarh.

Singh had the gratification of defeating Uma Bharti,
Bhartiya Janshakti Party President.

Ramesh Maindola of BJP defeated Suresh Seth (Cong) by
a margin of 39,937 votes in Indore-2 constituency.

Congress candidate Satyanarayan Patel defeated BJP
candidate Manoj Patel by a margin of 9,491 votes in Depalpur
seat.

BJP candidate Mahendra Hardia defeated Congress
candidate Shobha Ojha by a margin of 5,264 votes in Indore-5
seat.

BJP candidate Malini Goud defeated Congress nominee
Govind Manghani by a margin of 28,043 votes in Indore-4 seat.
