IRANIAN FRIENDS SHOCKED BY LANDSLIDE NEAR RENTED CONDO
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8 (Bernama) -- Two Iranian friends who wanted to return to their rented condominium at the Oakleaf Park, near here were shocked to find that a landslide had struck near their housing area.
Sam Daryarazm, 30, and Majid Asgharfar, 31, both of whom are qualified
flight instructors, said they had gone for a holiday in the southern state of
Melaka over the weekend and had not heard of the Bukit Antarabangsa landslide
which killed four people and flattened 14 bungalows.
Daryarazm said upon reaching Bukit Antarabangsa, near here this afternoon,
they were told that they could not get to their house as the alternative road
was still being built.
Asgharfar told Bernama that they had been staying at the condominium for
the past two months and that they were in Malaysia to find jobs as flight
instructors.
Bukit Antarabangsa , a hilly township comprising upmarket and middle class
bungalows, condominiums and terrace houses, was hit by the massive landslide
at 4am on
Saturday.
Search and Rescue (SAR) operation is still ongoing to find a missing Sri
Lankan maid
of veterinary doctor N. Yogeswari who was one of the four killed in the tragedy.
