Iran blames Pakistan for negligence on hostages issue
Tehran, Dec 8, IRNA Minister of Information Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei said on Monday
that Pakistani officials have failed to cooperate with Iran to release
a number of Iranian law enforcement forces who were recently killed by
armed bandits along Iran-Pakistan border area.
Terrorist armed bandits took hostage a group of Iranian disciplinary
forces on May 13 at Saravan border post, near the horassan Razavi
province's Grand Prophet (P) Barracks in eastern Iran.
Some 14 of the hostages were recently martyred.
Reacting to the killing of the hostages, the minister said, Iran's
information apparatus has done its duty but the problem occurred at
the Pakistani side. They should be blamed for their negligence."
"We could not operate behind our borders. Iran's information apparatus
has done its best to prevent the catastrophe but Pakistani officials
failed to give an appropriate response and cooperate with us," Ejei
said.
Iran's Prosecutor General Ayatollah Ghorban-Ali Dorri-Najafabadi said
on Friday that Iran's response to the armed bandit terrorists in
border regions would be severe.
