Iranian doctors denounce crimes in Gaza
Tehran, Dec 7, IRNA - A group of Iranian doctors sent a letter on Saturday to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemning the inhuman crimes of the Zionist regime and urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to immediately ship medicine and foodstuffs to the occupied territory which is on the verge of humanitarian catastrophe.
"Unfortunately the international organizations such as UNSC have kept
silent in the face of atrocities and crimes of the Zionist regime
mainly in Gaza whose ties with the world has been cut off," read the
letter.
Some 260 patients have been victimized due to Gaza seizure and some 71
percent of children in that region are now suffering malnutrition,
pointed out the letter.
Gaza seizure which has been exacerbated by the disruption of
electricity supplies and lack of medication have created a very tense
situation which requires immediate intervention of international
organizations as soon as possible, underlined the letter.
Since the UN has failed to condemn these crimes it would be regarded
as a black spot in the history of the UN, said the letter.
World public opinion call on the UN to take a firm decision to back
defenseless Palestinian people, said the letter.
The signatories to the letter also urged the UN to condemn the
atrocities of the Zionist regime and take action to provide needy
people with medicines and foodstuffs as soon as possible.
