INDONESIAN DOMESTIC HELPER BELIEVED KILLED IN KUALA LUMPUR LANDSLIDE
Kuala Lumpur, Dec 7 (ANTARA) - An Indonesian domestic helper was believed killed in a landslide which had buried around 14 bungalows, caused the death of four residents and injury of 14 others and one reported missing.
All mass media in Malaysia on Sunday reported the list of the dead victims such as Shaiful Khas Sharuddin (20), veterinarian Dr S Yogeswari (40), accountant Ng Yee Peng (40) and an Indonesian domestic helper identified as Surinah (30).
Indonesian Worker Protection Task Force in Kuala Lumpur Amiruddin on Sunday said till now, the police had no the courage to confirm that one of the victims was an Indonesian. It was reported to be a rumour in the community.
He had directly inspected the location to see the landslide when the local TV stations reported the accident happening in Bukit Mewah park, Hulu Klang, Kuala Lumpur.
When he was in the location of the landslide, the Malaysian police could not confirm whether an Indonesian citizen was one of the dead victim, because there was no any document from the owners of the houses who were currently on a picnic to Europe, he said.
All dead and injured victims were immediately rushed to the hospital in Kuala Lumpur.
Because of the landslide, around 1,500 houses were reported to have their electricity current cut off.
At least 800 workers of the salvation task force were deployed to seek the burried victims in the location.
