5,297 UXO AND MINES DEMOLISHED IN NOVEMBER
Baku, 06 December,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has
cleared the territory of 1 million 480 thousand 935 square km of 5,297 mines and UXO
in November, 2008, Press service of the Agency said. Reportedly, the operations
involved 339 sappers, 5 UXO operators and 30 mine detection dogs.
Up to now, the territory of 77 million 772 thousands 980 square km have been
cleared, and 367 thousands 639 mines and UXO have been neutralized.
Mine clearing works underway in the territories of Tartar, Agdam, Fizuli and Agstafa
regions.
