Majidi's film wins US Golden Globe award

'Song of Sparrows' by Iranian Director Majid Majidi won the US Golden
Globe award for the Best Foreign Language Film among 53 foreign
competitors.

Song of Sparrows, which will represent Iran at the 81st Academy
Awards, is set to be distributed by Regent Releasing in the US and hit
the country's screens this spring.

Majidi's feature-length production won the Best Actor Silver Bear
award at the 2008 Berlin International Film Festival for the brilliant
performance of its lead actor, Reza Naji.

Song of Sparrows recounts the story of an ostrich breeder in the
countryside, who is dismissed from his job and forced to leave his
hometown.

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 11, 2009
at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
