Ecuadorian president officially welcomed by Iranian counterpart

Tehran, Dec 6, IRNA

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Saturday officially welcomed his
Ecuadorian counterpart, President Rafael Correa Delgado.

President Delgado, heading a high-ranking delegation arrived in Tehran
Friday evening to review issues of mutual interest with his Iranian
counterpart and other senior officials.

The ceremony was held at Presidential premises downtown Tehran this morning.

During the ceremony, national anthems of the two countries were played
and the two presidents reviewed guard of honor.

The two presidents started their private talks immediately after the ceremony.

Ecuador's ministers of oil and mines, foreign affairs, agriculture and
defense are accompanying President Delgado in his first visit to the
Islamic Republic of Iran.

Expansion of economic relations would top the agenda of talks to be
held between President Delgado and senior Iranian officials.
