DELEGATION OF AZERBAIJAN`S MINISTRY OF LABOR AND SOCIAL PROTECTION OF POPULATION

Baku, 06 December,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Labor and
Social Protection of Population Fuzuli Alakbarov visited Germany from December 2 to
5.
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with German Federal Minister of
Labour and Social Affairs Olaf Scholz, the Ministry`s State Secretary Gunther
Horzetzky and Parliamentary State Secretary Franz Thunnes.
The meetings focused on improving national legislation in labor, employment, labor
protection and safety.
Successful bilateral cooperation on promotion of employment, social protection of
the unemployed was stressed during the meetings.
It was also noted Germany would render assistance to Azerbaijan in developing mutual
cooperation on employment and labor safety within the European Neighborhood Policy.
The Azerbaijani Minister spoke of social and economic reforms being carried out in
his country.
He stressed the importance of using Germany`s practice in improving the sector of
labor and social protection of population.
The delegation also met with Bundestag members Steffen Reiche and Gerd Andres to
exchange views on relevant cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany.
They praised Azerbaijan`s substantial role in the region`s development and the
country`s fair position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also visited the Academy for
Occupational Health and Safety in Dresden.
