INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SILK ROAD IN 21ST CENTURY ENDS IN BAKU

Baku, 05 December,(AzerTAj)A three-day “International conference on Silk Road in the 21st century” within the 8th Turkic World Economy, Information and Culture Forum ended Friday in Baku.

The conferees heard reports on “Opportunities of formation of the common higher
education area in the Turkic World”, “Transportation projects in the South Caucasus
and geopolitical results of their implementation” and “Development of the higher
education in the Turkic World: Information and library policies at a glance”.
The speakers of the conference stressed the importance of Baku Conference in
restoration of the Silk Road held in Baku, in 1998 by the initiative of nationwide
leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.
Touching upon historical relations between the Turkic speaking nations, the speakers
expressed their confidence that the ties will be expanded in economy, education,
culture and other areas even more.
The conferees adopted a final declaration.
