Sorenstam to design new golf course in S. Korea

SEOUL, Dec. 5 (Yonhap) -- Legendary LPGA golfer Annika Sorenstam has agreed to
design a new golf course on South Korea's west coast, its contractor said Friday.

Hanhwa Resort Co. said in a statement that the company struck a deal with the
Swedish golfer last month for the new golf course in Taean, South Chungcheong
Province, about 65 kilometers southwest of Seoul.
The course, expected to be set up by September next year, will be one of the
first projects taken up by the eight-time LGPA Player of the Year, who has shown
a keen interest in starting a new career as a golf course designer following her
retirement this year, Hanwha said.
Sorenstam, 38, has won 90 international tournaments, including 72 LPGA titles.
She tops the LPGA career money rankings.
